Dawn is a community organizer with a passion to see life different for children and families. With over a 33 year career in human services, Rotary’s focus and legacy of transcending roadblocks in communities to alleviate barriers is what attracted Dawn to Rotary in 2004.
Dawn serves as the District Governor for Rotary District 7730 for 2020-21. Dawn was a member of the National Immunization Day trip to India in 2015 and 2019 for Zone 33/34 where she experienced the significant impact of the contributions to the Rotary Foundation and the difference that is made in our world through Rotary.
Thus far in her leadership year as District Governor, Dawn is most proud of the resiliency of Rotarians in responding to their communities in the face of COVID. Dawn has been instrumental in the organization of Rotarians in North Carolina to support the Department of Health and Human Services mass immunization rollout. Addressing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion intentionally is also a cornerstone of her work to support growth in membership to represent the global community of Rotary.
Dawn and her husband Henry, also a Rotarian, celebrate 31 years of marriage this year and have an adult daughter, Taylor, an NC State University alum, who is working in downtown Raleigh and planning her wedding in Fall 2021.
